From fine dining, art galleries and premium hotels, to coffee bistros, rooftop bars and African-inspired retail stores, Maboneng – aptly translating to “place of light” – is a set in the heart of Johannesburg as and forms a place of inspiration and collaboration for all.

Tucked into the basement of Hallmark House, the Marabi Club is one of Jozi’s hottest and most authentic live music and dining experiences. Fifteen floors up, and boasting the ultimate views of downtown Jozi, Hallmark’s Rooftop is where industrial edge meets modern chic in one of our gritty city’s most ‘instagrammable’ spaces – with its wrap-around bar and unimaginable sunsets. From fades to braids and close shaves. Cutters Barbershop is a unique experience found in the Maboneng Precinct. Located on the ground floor, signature treatments are uplifting and refreshing, with a range of products and services including his and hers care, cuts and styling techniques – all led by one of Jozi’s best kept secrets, our Head Barber, Amon.
Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio
South Africa’s multitalented sweetheart Bontle Modiselle announced the opening of her first ever dance studio in the heart of Maboneng late in 2021, which has now officially opened to the public right HERE at Hallmark House Hotel.
Located on the rooftop, The Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio is an all-inclusive environment that offers various styles of dance classes to the public to encourage creativity, individuality and fun, whilst sweating away the stress of day-to-day commitments. Learn from only the finest instructors who will bring you the best dance, fitness and fun sessions.
Curious Curio Store
The Curious Curio store – found on the ground floor of the hotel – hosts fashion and curios from a range of local designers, along with the hotel merchandise. Take a look, who knows what you may find!

Our incredible front desk team are available to assist you 24 hours a day. You can reach them on extension #9.
Wi-Fi
Please connect to the hotel wi-fi by making use of the username and code provided with your room key upon check in.
Check In and Check Out
Check In is at 14:00 and Check Out is at 10:00 daily. Please approach our friendly front desk team should you wish to request a late check out and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Parking
Secure parking is available for hotel guests on the first three levels of the hotel, from P1 – P3. Kindly show security your hotel room key to access parking through the boom gate from Siemert Road.
Luggage storage
We are more than happy to hold your luggage upon request should you need to leave it in our storeroom before or after staying with us at the hotel.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served on the ground floor at Thorn restaurant from 06h00 – 11h00, seven days a week.
Room Service
Room Service is available from our hotel restaurant, Thorn from 06h00 – 23h00 every day. Please make use of the QR code provided to check the menu and dial extension #9 to place your order.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping services are available daily, please be sure to make use of the “Do Not Disturb” sign should you want to omit this service.
Towels
Kindly place your towels on the shower floor should you like us to provide you a fresh set.
Gowns and Slippers
Gowns and slippers are provided in your room, please feel free to take the slippers home with you, however we ask that you leave the gowns behind (we know, they’re lovely!), removed gowns will be charged to your room account.
Laundry
Should you wish for us to take care of your garments, please make use of the laundry bag provided in the dressing cabinet, along with the check list of services you would like. Prices are provided on the check list and will be charged to your account upon check out.
Mini bar
The mini bar can be fully stocked per your request. Please note that we work on an honesty bar system and all items consumed will be charged to your room upon checkout.

Enjoy a tea or coffee on us!
Aircon
Airconditioning is available in every room – please feel free to contact the front desk if you are struggling to operate your unit using the remote control, and our team will happily assist you.
Shower
It will take a minute or so for your shower water to run hot, please be sure to turn on your shower and let the water run for a little while so as not to get an involuntary ice bath.
Additional Amenities
A hair dryer and additional blankets can be located in the cabinet.
